February 27, 2006 - Msg 1188: I have always been a big fan of the Andy Griffith Show and Don Knotts was one of the big reasons it was so so funny. He will be so missed

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1189: I grew up watching The Andy Griffith Show, in the 60's in NC. The show was so familiar with NC, that as a kid, I thought that there was a Mayberry, NC. This man's humor was priceless, he was always on the spot. I read in the The Andy Griffith Show book, that a large portion of the humor between Andy and Barney was adlibed, and not in the lines. This tells me of the genious of the man, Don Knotts!
Heaven, just got another great deputy!

Rest in Peace, Barn!

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1203: I am old enough (and fortunate enough) to have seem many of the Andy Griffith Show episodes in prime time. I have never quit watching them nor enjoying them. Barney is possibly the most entertaining and interesting character ever portrayed in TV. He did it without dirty jokes or silly "double-entendres," and proved that, even when you're a jerk, you can be loveable.

I feel just a little bit poorer today because he no longer shares this planet with me.

Thanks, Don, for Barney Fife. You will be missed.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1304: Dear Mr. Griffith,

I'm sorry to hear about the lose of your old and dear friend. He made tv fun, and enjoyable for many generations past, and yet to come. May he rest in peace.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1305: For my money, Barney Fife was the funniest TV character of all time. We will miss Don Knotts.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1306: Barney we all love you. You will be sadly missed by your audience family. You gave us something to smile about. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your close family and friends. We've lost an icon. J & B, Jamestown, TN

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1307: What can I say, there are no words to say how sorry the world is for such a loss of our family member. How many of us grew up imagining living a life in Mayberry with Barney and Andy. Still watch them every chance I get and will always. Sorely missed. Rest in peace, Mr. Knotts.

Henri Stratton, Guthrie, Ky.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1310: So many times television and the actors that play the characters create an image that is far removed from real life. Yes, Mayberry is a fictional place. But it is clear from reading these messages that Don's real life was not a facade. I have been a fan of the show since I was 7 years old; it is still and always will be my all time favorite. Many of the values I hold closely I learned watching episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. It is amazing that a show that has been off the air for 40 years still has such a tremendous influence on people's lives. Hollywood should take notice.
Thank you Don and Andy. You both are a huge blessing to millions of people.
Rest in peace, Don. You are deeply loved and not forgotten.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1312: Our lose is Heaven's gain ... I used to watch Andy and Barney every Monday night with my mom and we would be in tears laughing at Barney and his antics ... his classic lines and delivery, his expressions of surprise, excitement ... what a cast! Thanks Barn!

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1313: I'VE LOST A LOVED ONE IN DON KNOTTS. ONE THING SO GREAT ABOUT DON/BARNEY IS HIS SMILE. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MORE GENUINE SMILE? AS BARNEY OR HIMSELF, DON KNOTTS MADE US FEEL AT EASE BECAUSE HE WAS AT EASE WITH HIMSELF.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1314: Upon hearing the news of Don Knotts' passing, I was saddened greatly. I am 27 now. Growing up my Dad and I didn't always get along well. But one thing we could always do together was watch The Andy Griffith Show. My Dad and I are closer than ever now and we still share the same love of the program. We still watch the re-runs and quiz each other with trivia to this day. So often we crack jokes with each other via the punchlines used by Don as Barney Fife. Even today at work everyone that was a fan of Don's work didnt all stand around and cry. Instead, we laughed together as we recalled the humor that Mr. Knotts gave us through the years. Thanks for everything Don. "The Rock" wont be the same without you.
Respectfully,
-WTG III

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1319: I have three young boys, and interestingly enough we spent several hours this weekend enjoying classic episodes that highlighted the wonderful talent of Don Knotts. February 27, 2006 - Msg 1322: God bless Don and long live Barney Fife...Don is one of the giants of the comedy world on both television and in the movies. I've been watching him for so many years, losing him is like losing a family member or close friend. Over the years Don gave us a lot of great performances, but the role of Barney Fife is the personification of his talent. I've been watching the Andy Griffith Show in reruns for over 25 years and I now have all the episodes on DVD. I have seen each episode dozens of times and I watch one or more episodes everyday. For me the best shows are the ones that center around Barney...They still make me laugh out loud!!! In these days of violence, terrorism, bad taste, etc. I relish the opportunity to travel back to Mayberry where life is slow, Barney provides the laughs, and Andy provides the wisdom. Thanks Barn, Thanks Ange.....How do you fight fire??? Cal in California

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1323: Heaven must be a funnier place but we are sad here. Thanks for all the memories.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1325: From Barney, to "The Incredible Mr. Limpit, to Mr. Farley, and everything in between, Don Knotts proved he was one of the greatest of all time. Barney is still part of our home and sometimes I still want to be a "Fish." Billy NC

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1326: I was saddened by the news of Don's passing. I watched the Andy Griffin show as a child with my dad and then shared reruns of the show with my son and especially the movies. The Ghost and Mr Chicken and the Incredible Mr. Limpet were our favorites. We loved Barney and his one bullet in his pocket so much we named our dog "One bullet Barney" God Speed.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1327: America has lost an amazing man

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1328: thanks for the memories. We miss the days of television when the whole family could sit around together and enjoy clean jokes. Barney would always make us laugh at ourselves. We miss his true humor.

February 27, 2006 - Msg 1330: I remember as a child, I'd come home from school at lunch time and watch The Andy Griffith Show, and watching Don Knotts bumbling Barney character would always make me laugh. And after school, I'd watch Three's Company, not really understanding the adult humour in that show, but always getting a kick out of Mr.Furley. Don Knotts was one of the funniest comedians I've ever seen, and he still makes me laugh out loud when I watch him on my dvds of some of his old shows. I was truly saddened by his passing, the world has lost one of the great comedians of all times, we will miss him terribly.
