The stories he shared from the stage at Mayberry events are priceless and are second only to the music he was such an important part of giving to us all. August 14, 2010 - Msg 8: This comes as a shock. I am writing a series of stories about the 50th anniversary of TAGS for The Monroe News Star in Monroe, LA. Mitch graciously answered some questions for me via e-mail, and I will always be grateful for his honesty and his generosity. R.I.P. Mr. Jayne, and thank you.

August 15, 2010 - Msg 9: My thoughts and prayers goes out for Mitch's family. He helped to make "The Andy Griffith Show" the wonderful, heart-filled place that we couldn't wait to "visit" every day. I'm sure Doc Watson and Bill Monroe are happy to have a new band member. RIP, Mitch.

September 16, 2010 - Msg 20: I met Mitch a few years back through Rodney Dillard. Mitch Jayne was a awesome man to know. I remember back stage during Mayberry Days in Mt Airey lisening to some of his storeies, in the begining you were on the edge of your seat and by the end you were in stiches laughing. Mitch your going to be missed but I know Heaven will be a better place with you there. I was so honored to have met him and all the Darling boys. Thanks for the years of music and humor all of you have given. To all of Mitch's family God bless you all. Thank you for sharing the warm hearted and awesome man Mitch was. You all will be in my prayer's.

September 30, 2010 - Msg 21: Just learned of Mitch Jayne's passing and am incredibly saddened by the news. I grew up watching TAGS and have several CDs of the Dillards -- I'll listen to them tonight in memoriam.

October 09, 2010 - Msg 22: Being from Salem Missouri Mitch and the Dillards were local celebs and I miss his radio show on KSMO to this day he will be greatly missed RIP and God bless..

January 11, 2011 - Msg 24: I truly loved watching TAGS with the Darling's as a young girl growing up in South Carolina. It is still today one of our all time favorites. Thanks for the music and for making us smile.
